Play It Loud Streaming Platform Officially Launches in Uganda
Uganda’s creative industry hit a major milestone this week with the official launch of Play It Loud, a groundbreaking streaming platform aimed at showcasing authentic Ugandan stories while empowering local content creators to reach audiences worldwide.
The glamorous launch event, held at Mestil Hotel, attracted Uganda’s top filmmakers, musicians, comedians, actors, and social media influencers. Attendees praised the platform as a transformative step for the country’s entertainment landscape, providing a stage for talent that has long been underrepresented.

Available on both Android and Apple devices, Play It Loud offers Ugandans instant access to original shows, comedy specials, lifestyle content, and cultural features ,all highlighting the richness of local creativity. The platform promises to redefine how Ugandan content is produced, distributed, and monetised.

Chief guest Juliana Kaggwa, CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), applauded the initiative, stating that Uganda’s identity extends beyond wildlife tourism to include music, cuisine, and cultural stories that deserve global recognition. “Play It Loud has the potential to showcase our heritage and modern creativity alike, giving the world a true taste of Uganda,” she said.


The platform also emphasises skills development for young creators. Kevin Bellwood, Group Skills Master at Play It Loud, unveiled programs in production, editing, writing, and animation, alongside internship opportunities for hands-on industry experience. High-profile talents also teased exciting upcoming content: socialite Mami Debs announced Vibes and Visas, comedian Anne Kansiime confirmed new episodes of Don’t Mess With Kansiime, and Patrick Salvado revealed his one-man show I Have Arrived will stream exclusively on the platform.
