Kalifah AgaNaga Slams A Pass, Demands Music Battle Over Nassanga Remix Criticism

Musician Kalifah AgaNaga has openly challenged fellow artist A Pass to a music battle, criticizing him for taking jabs at the massive collaboration rather than rallying behind one of the country's major musical achievements.

Addressing viewers on TikTok Live, AgaNaga voiced frustration with A Pass for repeatedly targeting Eddy Kenzo’s verse on the track, claiming his comments had crossed the line from constructive feedback into disrespect.

"If you truly believe you're superior to Kenzo, demonstrate it in a battle," AgaNaga asserted, pointing out Kenzo's international accolades, including a BET Award and a Grammy nomination—milestones he suggested A Pass might never reach.

AgaNaga emphasized that Kenzo deserves recognition for his career accomplishments, noting that the Uganda National Musicians Federation president poured significant effort and funding into making the Nassanga Remix a reality.

He went on to compare A Pass’s recent releases with the performance of the hit remix.

"Name a single track of yours that matches the reach of the Nassanga Remix right now," AgaNaga challenged, highlighting that the song is currently dominating major streaming platforms like YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music across East Africa, whereas A Pass’s recent work faded quickly from the charts.

Taking aim at how artists should support the local industry, AgaNaga argued that prominent musicians ought to champion successful Ugandan projects rather than trying to tear them down, emphasizing a shared duty to support one another when a regional hit emerges.

He also dismissed A Pass's recent habit of reviewing other artists' work, stating that music commentary and critique should be left to media professionals, bloggers, and content creators instead of active musicians.
